Our TEN FAQs
1: What is the process?
- It's as easy as One, Two, Three.
- Dig through our inventory of Vintage, Old and New patches and pick one you'd like to have on a Hat.
- Visit our Hat page to see what blank hats are available and pick one that you would like your patch sewn on to.
- We'll sew it up on our professional machines and ship it off to you.
- We'll just add this here as well... Free Shipping on orders over $65.
2: What is your turn around time?
- All of our hats are on a Made to Order basis unless otherwise posted as a Pre-Made Hat. So we ask that you allow 3 business days for us to do the Prep and Sewing and we then ship via USPS. In general we've seen it take 5 days to go from corner to corner (Seattle to Miami) the longest distance we ship. In theory you would see your new hat on your head within 10 days. Did we mention we offer FREE shipping on orders over $65?
- CANADA - First off, we apologize for the inconvenience of the pricing but we want to include you as a customer. We've set up a variety of shipping options to choose from to which the carrier sets the price and not us. There is a discount applied on the rates that fluctuates based on location and we do not apply any additional fees.
3: Are your patches all Vintage?
- Not ALL but Most of them are. Though we do focus on finding those Vintage Gems out there we don't limit ourselves to just that. We've seen plenty of new Patches that deserve to be on a hat. There has been too many times that I've seen a brand, store or brewery and didn't like their hats but loved their Patches. ALL patches will be clearly marked as to whether they are Vintage or New Stock. Occasionally we might mention Unknown. The patch game can be tricky and we won't label something Vintage if we can't confirm it.
4: What is your return policy?
- We have a 30 day return policy with the buyer paying the return shipping. Contact Us for the steps to process.
- The condition of the hat must be New and Unworn.
5: Do you have a Guarantee?
- We give a 1 year guarantee on the sewing of the Patch on the Hat. In the case of a Patch Sewing having issues we'd ask that you Contact Us with the issue and we'll give you the steps to fix the situation from there. The patch and the hat separately are not of our making so we are unable to address either of those issues.
7: Do you run any Sales, Promotions or Discounts?
- Yes, we will occasionally run Sales, Promotions or offer Discounts. What where or when is the question. Best answer is to sign up for our newsletter and or pay attention to our social media to get the alerts. We might have mentioned somewhere that we offer FREE shipping on orders over $65.
8: How do you source your patches?
- There are a variety of ways we do this. Old boxes in the family attic or even friends for that matter, garage and Estate Sales, antique stores, from the brands themselves and any other way we can dig one up. We do not buy reproductions from overseas. ALL sourcing is US based.
9: What makes you different than the other Pick a Patch businesses?
- This is probably the best question. I will be first to admit that Improvise Headwear is very similar to other Pick a Patch businesses. There are a few out there that we really admire. We have the passion for finding the right patch for the right hat for that right person. In doing so we service our customers the best we can and provide the highest quality patches and hats possible. We are excited to be in this line of business and it'll show through with our packaging, products and customer service. Everyone can get access to the same hats so to answer the question, the only thing that would set us apart would be our Patch Inventory and that goes for all of us in the Hat Hustling Business.
